Dave Jones

Dave has been an electricity analyst for 23 years and is leading Ember’s Global Insights team. He works on identifying insights around the global electricity transition to advocate for repowering our entire energy economy around clean power.

From 2000 to 2013, he was working as an electricity analyst at German utility E.ON. He joined the non-profit Sandbag in 2014, where he was working on phasing out coal in Europe to 2020. In 2020, he helped to launch Ember, and has been helping to expand Ember’s data team, expand its policy work in Asia and to set up a new team to address methane leaks from coal mines. He also set up Ember’s flagship Global Electricity Review, which is now in its fourth year.
