Adam Whitmore

Special Policy Adviser

Adam works part time providing expert climate policy advice, drawn from 20 years’ experience of working on climate change issues in both consultancy and industry, and full time work on climate change over the last eight years.  He had several consulting roles, working mainly on energy, including as a Director responsible for Energy Economics Consulting at Deloitte.  He left consulting to join Hydrogen Energy, a company looking to build CCS projects, where he was Chief Economist working on policy support for CCS.  He then spent five years as Chief Advisor, Energy and Climate Change Policy for Rio Tinto. Adam is a member of the supervisory board of the British Institute of Energy Economics, and a guest lecturer on MSc courses at several universities. He has a BSc and MPhil in Chemistry from the University of Southampton.
