The Open Data Challenge is Europe’s biggest competition on open data. The event was organised by the Open Knowledge Foundation and sponsored by a number of influential companies, such as Google, IBM and Microsoft. The winners were selected by a group of very prestigious judges (amongst them Sir Tim Berners-Lee) and were announced by Neelie Kroes, the Vice President of the European Commission.
They received a total of 430 entries from 24 EU member states…
And the great news is that our Emissions Map won the joint 2nd prize in the category visualisation!
Here is the Open Data Challenge video featuring the winners:
Talking about maps, watch this space. We are currently in the process of finalising a completely new map that will accompany our new Fat Cats report.
Both the report and the map will be released on Monday the 20th June.
