Our non-executive Director, Ed Gillespie, has managed to distill a decade of wit and wisdom on sustainability into twenty minutes for a talk at TEDx Hornstall.

As co-founder of Futerra Sustainability Communications he's spent more than a wee bit of time pondering how to communicate and inspire.

Conclusion: "Sustainability – the reinvention of progress"

Sustainability is about protecting progress, about the hope of things getting better. It is appealing to everyone, from settlers to pioneers, if you speak to their values.

That said, in a age of change we need to be proactive. Hence the Sandbags and Futerras of the world need to spread a positive vision of what is possible. No more war spirit 'Keep Calm and Carry On'… we need to 'Get Excited and Change Things'

Now of course where Ed's concerned we're biased, but I've watched a lot of TED talks and this is up there with the best of them (plus… I've never seen slideshow images used to such sharp-witted and pointy-sticked effect)

18 minutes very well spent:
