Companies can take real action on climate change by removing CO2 from the EU Emissions Trading System through Sandbag. Every permit destroyed means one less tonne of emissions can be produced. In addition, Sandbag only buys emissions credits from companies or organisations that contractually agree to spend the money they receive on measures to save energy, thus reducing CO2 emissions further. By becoming stakeholders in the market, we can also draw attention to the need to tighten the cap on the market, issuing fewer permits overall.
